In Judges 6, we meet Gideon — a man hiding from the Midianites when God calls him a “mighty warrior.” Gideon doesn’t feel mighty; he feels small, unqualified, and afraid. So he does what many of us would do — he asks a lot of questions.

Gideon’s questions remind us that asking God “why” or “how” is not sinful or disobedient. God is not insecure. He welcomes our honest doubts and conversations. Questions become a problem only when they’re used as an excuse to procrastinate or avoid obedience.

Like Gideon, we often doubt ourselves: “I’m too young… too old… too unqualified.” But faith means stepping out when God calls — even when we still have questions. God was patient with Gideon, answering him with signs and clarity until Gideon gained the courage to obey.

The lesson? Victory begins with obedience. It’s not about having all the answers before we move; it’s about trusting that God is with us in the step of faith.
