11.16.25 Pastor Chris Weeks
We wrapped up the Beatitudes by seeing how Jesus describes a Kingdom that flips the world’s values. In His upside-down Kingdom, the poor are rich in spirit, the grieving are comforted, the meek inherit the earth, the hungry are filled, the merciful receive mercy, the pure see God, peacemakers are God’s children, and the persecuted are honored in heaven.
These aren’t isolated statements — they build on each other to form the character of someone shaped by one King and one Kingdom.
Jesus paints a counter-culture life: the world says fit in, hide your pain, fight for control. God says stand out, mourn and be healed, make peace, and surrender control to Him.
The Beatitudes ultimately paint a portrait of Jesus Himself — gentle, righteous, persecuted, yet risen. And as we draw closer to Him, this is who we become.
